On the Saturday night of Expo, my shoulder bag (the one I carry everywhere with me) was taken from me sometime at Fox's. I left it in a pile of our bags literally right next to the table a group of us were hanging around, and it was missing when I went to retrieve it at closing time.

Having looked for it all Sunday and gotten no leads, I was forced to report it stolen the next day.

The bag contained roughly £800 of items and equipment, including (but not limited to):

• My DSLR camera and the F2.8 17-80mm Sigma lens I bought for it, with both of my memory cards and all my photos from Friday/Saturday.
• My flashgun.
• My passport.
• My return rail ticket (which cost me £113 to replace on the day).
• My railcard (which meant I didn't even get a discount on the rail ticket).
• My PSP, including the game within the system at the time and the memory card containing all of my save data.

The gravity of the situation pretty much spent all of Sunday sinking in, and took the wind out of my sails somewhat, so apologies to those to who I was a bit sullen and terse without really explaining why. My insurance will hopefully cover the physical cost of the items, and replacing some of them (such as my passport) will be a pain, but what hit me hardest was the loss of my Friday/Saturday photos since those can't be replaced.

If you think you have any information on what happened, please contact me ASAP. My shoulder bag was a green/dark beige satchel/bookbag with a sword keyring (actually a replica of Lightning's Blazefire Sabre from Final Fantasy XIII) hanging from it. I believe it was taken between 11pm and midnight. We were sitting all night in the upper section of the ground floor of Fox's, the bit with the sofas overlooking the main floor.

Calling all Expo attendees! Is anyone still looking for some accomodation?

My original plan for Expo was to share a four-person room with Dee, Maz and Tom at a Holiday Inn near Expo. However, after the room was booked, Tom was asked to help out at Expo in a more official capacity, which means that Expo will be providing accomodation for himself and Maz.

This means that myself and Dee now have two spots available on the Friday and Saturday nights that I'm quite eager to fill. The room is £160, so if we fill the two spots than it works out to £20 a night for accommodation, which includes breakfast as well.

The Holiday Inn in question is the Docklands one on Silvertown Way, which is a short DLR ride from the Excel Centre.

Please let us know if you'd be interested, or pass the message along if someone else we know needs a spot!

Part 1 of my Ayacon photos have been uploaded!

I've still got the Masquerade, the King of Fighters photo shoot, Angie's Selphie shoot and various other random photos to do as well. I'm pretty happy with how most of them turned out, though I still have a wee bit of a problem with overexposure, my bad. I'll work on that when I'm at Expo. Enjoy the set so far!

So I'm down in Bath for a little bit, staying with Joe and Ailsa while I (to use a technical term) Get My Shit Together. We're spending the nights watching Joe's Gargolyes DVDs, and it's a pretty damn shiny series. Way better than I remember, though the last time I saw it I was a little kid and could barely remember anything about it. It has so many things missing from most kids' shows these days. Like... continuity.

I'm still doing my writing gigs. Would like to be able to write some more original fiction but we'll see how that progresses. I'm also getting two new players for my D&D campaign, so I need to write up some primer stuff for them on the world and so forth. I've been wanting to revamp by blog for a while, so maybe I'll take this break as an opportunity to do just that.

Catherine has been announced for a Western release, which makes me incredibly happy on many levels. Between that and Tales of Graces f, I think I'm going to be a very happy bunny this summer.

3) So many cosplay costumes- including professionally-made ones used at trade shows, animegao, full body/fursuit-types and so forth- that if I were to go into specifics, then I would very quickly run out of room on this list.

4) A motorbike. (Plus driving lessons to be able to actually use it, I suppose.)

5) A cool, modern flat in a big city. Preferably with room for a studio setup.

6) A Playstation 3. Because I don't have one. Ditto for Kinect, that Dance Central game looks shiny.

7) Artbooks. I love artbooks.

1) Exercise as much as I should. I really don't see that much of a need for it.

4) Work on cosplay and improve my craftsmanship skills.

6) Finish writing most stories. I have this issue where I find it really hard to continue after the first third.

7) Talk with friends as much as I should. I know I should be more extroverted but I just end up shying away from starting random conversations over IM.

1) Videogames that make it really hard to achieve 100% completion by making optional content easy to miss. Bonus points if the content is lost forever if you don't access it within a very limited time frame.

2) People who argue over inconsequential things. Especially when it involves fandom.

3) Entitlement issues within fandom. (The Comic Book Guy's, "As a loyal fan, I feel they owe me" argument.)

4) Photos that don't turn out right despite you doing everything right in theory.

5) The "you were actually helping the bad guy achieve his ends, suckers!" plot twist. So overdone, and makes you feel like you never should have gotten involved in the first place.

6) "Screamer" videos. I consider our friendship over if you ever send me one.

7) My sleeping pattern, especially when I miss something I wanted to do because I couldn't get to sleep and/or couldn't get up.
